Miranda Kerr's bold Met Gala make-up

Miranda Kerr's make-up artist created a bold beauty look for the model to complement her "dramatic" dress at the Met Gala on Monday (2May16).

The Australian star manages to tread the line between fashion-forward and classic when it comes to her wardrobe, and she wowed at fashion's biggest night in an edgy Louis Vuitton two-piece that showed a flash of tummy.

Unusually for the 33-year-old model, she wore her recently chopped locks in edgy braids, which allowed onlookers to really focus on her stunning face and statement cosmetics. Miranda's make-up artist, Lisa Storey, explained how she created the look to work in harmony with her client's outfit.

"To complement Miranda’s structured and dramatic Louis Vuitton two piece set, I went for a classic, yet bold look with a defined brow and deep red lip,” she told Vogue Australia.

With Miranda's flawless complexion as the perfect canvas, Lisa went for a neutral coloured eyeshadow, covering her lids in Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadow in Truffle, and then coated her lashes in Arden's Grand Entrance Mascara.

To create the stunning oxblood lip Lisa layered Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lip Color in Scarlet on a base of the brand's Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude Foundation.

And just to make them pop that bit more Lisa lined Miranda's pout with Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Finish Correcting and Highlighting Perfector.

While the brunette beauty always stuns in the spotlight, she previously admitted people are wrong to assume that she oozes glamour at all times.

“That I look like I do in the magazine or on the red carpet all the time. When I’m not working I wear very little or no make-up, I let my hair dry naturally and I’m generally in gym clothes,” she smiled to Britain's Grazia magazine.
