Michael Kors: Yellow is the new nude
Michael Kors states that yellow is the new nude.
Fashion designer Michael was joined by Derek Blasberg and Kate Hudson for a recent night out, with Kate stunning in a Michael Kors gown, slashed to her navel. The white dress was embellished with a floral pattern, and Kate teamed the look with yellow heels.
"I have to say yellow is the new nude, that's what I have to say," Michael beamed to Vanity Fair's cameras for a video segment. "It's the right dress on the right girl."
The three then headed to a fundraiser for charity God’s Love We Deliver. The organisation provides warm food to housebound people suffering from AIDS and other illnesses. Michael especially likes the "personal touch" the charity has.
"It's such a fun night," he explained. "I've been with God’s Love We Deliver since the late '80s. I mean all over New York City there are people who are stuck in their house, who are ill and need meals and who need to see people, quite frankly.
"Back in the '80s it was in the basement of a church, and now we've got a new Michael Kors building on 6th Avenue. They do amazing work."
The Michael Kors building came courtesy of a $5 million donation the designer made two years ago, allowing the charity to upgrade its headquarters. Michael and Kate are long-time friends, with the designer even tapping the actress for his charity watch drive in July (15). His Watch Hunger Stop initiative started in 2013, in association with the United Nations World Food Programme, and helps feed children who are starving.
"As a mother, I can’t think of anything more important than raising a healthy and educated generation of children, and WFP’s School Meals Programme is committed to exactly that," Kate enthused. "This is a cause that I’m eager to be a part of because I believe we can all make a real and significant difference."
