Michael Kors shows retro florals for spring '17

Michael Kors went for a retro holiday vibe for the spring 2017.

The designer created a party-like feel at the presentation during New York Fashion Week on Wednesday (14Sep16), with Rufus Wainwright performing with his band throughout.

As with any Kors show, celebrity fans such as Emily Blunt and Sienna Miller flocked to the front row, while the model lineup including the likes of Kendall Jenner, Taylor Hill and Bella Hadid.

Kors stuck with his signature silhouettes, with glitzy dresses, tailored jackets featuring, though he added in some unexpected flourishes with the addition of ‘60s florals and mod-style jewellery.

Joan Smalls opened the show in a navy trenchcoat style dress with a high side split, which was paired with a wide brown leather belt and platform sandals. And Kendall strutted her stuff in a brown, blue and white floral printed wrap dress, brown platform sandals, a purse with white ruffles and oversized stud earrings in the shape of a flower.

The hippy-chic theme was also evident in a navy sweatshirt which was emblazoned with the word Love and printed with daisies, as well as in a trench coat which was covered in tiny pink, orange and yellow flowers. Kors also injected some contrasting pieces, including oversized cardigans, a crisp white pantsuit with flared trousers, and cute bikinis with high waisted bottoms.

Towards the end of the procession, Kors added in some stunning evening wear, with a black dress with billowing chiffon sleeves, and a radiant Carolyn Murphy wowing in a navy-and-white beaded gown with cut-outs at the ribcage.

But onlookers were shocked when Bella, wearing a black sequined dress, stumbled over on the runway with her six-inch black platforms proving a little too difficult to manage.
