Linda Rodin stays simple with her beauty line
Linda Rodin made sure her beauty line was simple, unlike her own lifestyle.
The veteran stylist-turned-entrepreneur is a style icon in her own right having worked in the fashion industry for over four decades. But her beauty expertise is arguably what has seen her profile soar most, having created the Rodin Olio Lusso face oil, perfumes and a cosmetics line, the latter of which require little effort to use.
“When I started this (Rodin) I just knew I had to have plain and simple,” she told Vogue Australia. “That’s the brand, it is plain and simple, it doesn’t have a lot of layers to it, just 20 minutes of this and that. I think the packaging reflects completely, that philosophy. But (at home) I love to live with a million things.”
Linda’s own skincare routine is simple and fast as she doesn’t want to spend a lot on her appearance. When it comes to the rest of her life though the star insists there’s “nothing minimal” about her, dubbing her line Rodin as “the odd curveball”.
She recently launched her line in Australia with Mecca Cosmetica, after debuting her first lipstick range last December (15). Always rocking a bold lip herself, Linda made sure her products were just as bright, as she previously explained to Refinery29 how she found her signature look – which also includes thick-rimmed spectacles.
"It happened because my hair started turning grey at 35, and I never dyed it; I never thought of dyeing it,” she shrugged. “And I started not being able to see, so I started wearing glasses. The look found me out of necessity... Although on some level, some people can think it can be a little limiting, but at my age, I’m not experimenting. I'm going to be 68!"
