Lily Aldridge: How to be a VS model
Lily Aldridge pretends she can fly on the Victoria's Secret runway.
The model is one of the lingerie brand's most famous Angels and is used to hitting the catwalk in tiny underwear and huge, feathered wings.
Now she's revealed her secret to looking hot on the catwalk.
"It's all about the confidence; you've gotta be proud, chest up!" she explained to teenvogue.com. "And we have wings, so you have to pretend to fly."
But Lily doesn't just strut her stuff for VS - she walked for Diane von Furstenberg during New York Fashion Week earlier this month (Sep15), looking gorgeous in a printed halterneck dress.
Her beauty look was also stunning, with Lily rocking blue eyeshadow, perfectly curled locks and a flower in her hair. While people might think it's all about the runway, the model says the backstage shots also pose a challenge.
"The first thing is the beauty pose backstage at a fashion show. Photographers love to get a beauty shot of you and your nails in, like, this big of a frame," she said, signalling a small box around her face. "You have to learn to kind of place your hands on your face without looking weird, mine are usually... [covers face]."
And finally, Lily also makes her mark on the red carpet. She sat front row for Marc Jacobs' Spring/Summer 16 show, wearing a printed jumpsuit. The outfit had pockets, which is always a plus for Lily's posing.
"You need to know the perfect pose for your outfit. My go-to on the red carpet is, you get a little leg and I do a little cross [with the legs], hands on pockets or behind, in every picture!" she laughed.
