Katie Eary: Designer collaborations are the future

Katie Eary didn't think her brand would become more than just fashion.

The British designer is one of the most exciting names in London fashion, and counts the likes of Kanye West as a famous fan. While she continues to produce pieces for her namesake label, Katie has also seen her company take off in different ways. Earlier this year (15), she teamed up with hair giants Fudge, creating a wacky kit bag complete with googly eyes and a tongue. Venturing out and collaborating with other brands was never on Katy's radar though.

"No (I didn't see the brand going in this direction)," Katie smiled exclusively to Cover Media. "It's just something that's happened. I think a lot of young designer collaborations are the future. Because you get to do... If I was to create that independently for myself, I wouldn't be able to retail it. it might cost a little amount for a company if you're ordering 500, but if you only sold 50 you might as well stop right there. So collaborations are the future, and I feel so lucky that I'm able to work with companies like Fudge."

Another famous follower of Katie's is British model David Gandy. The handsome star is known for his dapper appearance, and even recently threw his name into the hat to play the next James Bond. Despite his slick style choices, he's been known to sit front row at Katie's more eccentric shows.

"Yeah (I appreciate it when David Gandy's there)," she beamed. "He's very Savile Row. But he's a lovely guy, I'd say he's more a friend now really. It's always nice for him to be there.”
