Kate Moss' Equipment collection has nod to Bowie
Kate Moss’ collaboration with Equipment represents her daily style.
The supermodel may flirt with bohemian chic and screen siren glamour, but the look she’s best known for is matching masculine shirts with a pair of skinny jeans and ballet pumps.
Her love for the style has seen her team up with shirt brand Equipment, founded by Christian Restoin in 1976.
“The collection represents what I wear every day,” she told Britain’s InStyle magazine. “A little ‘90s, a little rock and roll, a bit of an edge with a subtle nod to (David) Bowie.”
Late singer David isn’t her only rock style inspiration; Kate also cites one of the Rolling Stones’ as her shirt idol.
“Keith Richards. Unbuttoned silk shirts are his second skin,” she smiled.
The Kate Moss for Equipment capsule collection is made up of 39 pieces, ranging from quintessential button downs in archived prints to styles synonymous with Kate’s own tastes. As well as shirts the designs also include dresses, blazers and sweaters.
The 42-year-old has long been a fan of the label, after finding it through an ex-boyfriend.
“It’s how I discovered Equipment. My boyfriend at the time had loads of their shirts, and I began borrowing them,” she shared.
As for her all time favourite print, Kate admits there’s one she could live in if she had to.
“Might be leopard. But I’m sure that comes as no surprise,” she laughed.
As well as a veteran model, Kate has also become a seasoned designer. She’s created a total of 15 collections for Topshop and also designed bags for Longchamp.
