Karlie Kloss learned selfie skills from the best
Karlie Kloss can now take the perfect selfie, thanks to Dutch fashion photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
The U.S. model has been quiet on the fashion front lately, but is back with a brand new denim campaign for Express.
The #ExpressLife adverts feature Karlie in a range of black and white shots wearing different denim styles, with one photo upping the cute factor by adding a kitten. The campaign was shot by the Dutch duo, who have taught Karlie a thing or two over the years.
“One thing is how to use the light to your advantage,” she told People magazine. “Whether that’s taking a selfie or taking a photograph, try to find the natural light. In a photograph, light is what makes it.”
The low key style of the shoot suited Karlie perfectly, as the 23-year-old admits she’s a T-shirt and jeans kind of girl away from the fashion world. She adds that she also loves nothing more than finding clothes that are chic and cool, but affordable, “like a t-shirt that costs less than my coffee”.
As for her denim of choice, the super slim star likes jeans that can hold her in.
“I love high-waisted anything because you just feel tucked in. It’s a great feeling,” she smiled.
“I think denim is a really hard thing to master. I feel like when you find the perfect pair of jeans, no matter where you find them, when you find the pair that fits your body, that flatters whatever it is you want, buy multiple pairs of them. That’s what I do. I just think good denim is hard to come by and when you find it, invest.”
