Jourdan Dunn: We all make mistakes

Jourdan Dunn wants girls to learn from their mistakes.

The 24-year-old model has a massive fan base thanks to her work with the likes of Marc Jacobs, Burberry and Maybelline New York. She often interacts with her followers online and with over a million people tuning into her every Instagram post, Jourdan makes sure to set a good example.

"It's great to have a platform where I can voice my opinions and say what I want - but I'm careful about what I say. I realise I have a responsibility," she reasoned to Britain's Glamour magazine. "Sure, I'm going to make mistakes, but I can learn from them. I want the girls who look up to me to learn from their mistakes, too."

It isn't just young women who Jourdan is wary of letting down, there's also her five-year-old son Riley. The star describes her little one as her "muse" and says everything she does is to benefit him and give him the best possible future. That's not to say she doesn't enjoy her job though and is thriving as more projects come her way.

She puts her fame to good uses in other ways as well, such as being an ambassador the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America.

"It's something that my son deals with and I'm still learning about," she added. "It's a blessing in disguise that I can lend my voice to this incredible organisation, which has been a real support system for me. We're working on long-term projects in the UK and the US that will raise funds for research and spread awareness, because people don't talk about it enough."
