Jourdan Dunn: I got it from my mama

Jourdan Dunn's catwalk strut is all thanks to her mother.

The British model is one of the most influential names in fashion, working with the likes of Burberry, Maybelline and Diane von Furstenberg on a regular basis.

The 25-year-old's career began over a decade ago, back when Jourdan had zero experience of fashion. Luckily her mum Dee was on hand to help.

“I was signed as a model when I was 14, and I didn’t know how to walk in heels. My mum bought me these kind of stripper heels and said, ‘If you can walk in these, you can walk in anything.’ I practised in my house while doing the dishes so I’d learn to be stable, but, truthfully, I never really learnt," she smiled to W magazine.

Jourdan is one of six stars to land a cover for the new Royals issue of the publication. She joins Julianne Moore, Adam Driver, Claire Danes, Allison Williams, and Greta Gerwig.

Despite her hesitance in heels, Jourdan often rocks towering footwear on the red carpet. She wowed at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London earlier this week, wearing a daring gown.

The Sonia Rykiel dress was made up of silver and metallic blue stripes at the front, with the material attached to the back with three black straps, exposing the sides. The halter neck design fell over her chest, leaving a keyhole of cleavage on show.

The risqué choice caught Jourdan out later in the evening though, when she suffered a near wardrobe malfunction as she took to the stage to present fellow model David Gandy with the Most Stylish Man accolade.

Host Samuel L. Jackson came to her rescue by adjusting the height of the microphone to avoid any flashing.
