Jonathan Saunders taps Rupert Maunsell as first CEO

Rupert Maunsell is the first CEO of Jonathan Saunders.

The London-based brand first debuted at London Fashion Week in September 2003 after Scottish designer Jonathan graduated from Central Saint Martins the year before.

After receiving investment from businesswoman Eiesha Bharti Pasricha at the beginning of the year his label has taken a leap forward and hired Rupert to oversee proceedings.

Rupert has a strong fashion background having previously helmed jobs at Mary Katrantzou and Temperley London, and he can't wait to get stuck into his new role.

"I have always admired Jonathan's work immensely and feel fortunate to be working with such a great talent," he said in a statement today. "I am delighted to be part of this new chapter at Jonathan Saunders and look forward to developing this fantastic British brand together."

Rupert starts straight away and his first assignment is hiring new employees across all areas of the company with an aim of strengthening the label.

Jonathan himself is "thrilled" to have Rupert on board and describes the move as a "significant step" for his empire.

"We have a shared vision and I'm looking forward to working together to actualise it," he shared.

Rupert has the seal of approval from Eiesha too, who became a stakeholder in Roksanda Ilincic last year which resulted in the fashion house gaining its first CEO, Carmela Acampora. Eiesha dubs Jonathan's new head man a "remarkable individual" who is always hands on with his workload, all the while remaining grounded.

"I am certain we will be able to nurture the brand into its next phase with Jonathan's creative direction and Rupert at the helm," she added.
