Joan Smalls goes glitzy for Tony Awards
Joan Smalls showed her support for Broadway show Hamilton in a sparkling gown at the Tony Awards on Sunday night (12Jun16).
The 27-year-old model attended the glitzy event in New York, where Hamilton took home an impressive 11 wins, three of which went to its stars Leslie Odom, Jr., Daveed Diggs and Renee Elise Goldsberry. Joan made jaws drop in a low-cut red Altuzarra dress, covered in black and silver sequins and diamante detailing.
"Boricuas on Broadway. So proud of the cast of #Hamilton + its creator #LinManuelMiranda...you deserve ALL of the success! #TonyAwards (sic)" she wrote alongside a photo of herself, Lin-Manuel and another member of the production on Instagram.
Joan stood alongside designer Joseph Altuzarra too, who looked dapper in a black suit with a white shirt and black bow tie. The model towered above him, with her red eye make-up matching the tone of her dress.
"The [email protected] + me at tonight's 70th Annual #TonyAwards #IJS (sic)" she captioned a cute photo of the pair.
Joan didn't only show her dedication to Broadway on Sunday though - she also paid tribute to the victims of the Orlando massacre by pinning a silver ribbon to her chest. It'd been reported 50 people were shot when a gunman stormed gay nightclub Pulse in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Joseph also had a ribbon on, and took to his brand's social media to post snaps of the model wowing in his creation.
Meanwhile fellow fashionista Karolina Kurkova turned heads in a quirky Coach ensemble, featuring a navy preppy jacket with gold panels worn over a long black gown with a knee-high slit. Keeping up the edginess, the blonde beauty accessorised with a leather bag covered in patches and strappy stiletto shoes.
To give all attention to her outfit, Karolina wore her bombshell locks up and slicked back into a neat bun.
