Jimmy Choo’s grown up scent

Sandra Choi describes Jimmy Choo's new perfume as "punchy".

The famous shoe label also produces fragrances and the creative director has now introduced the latest in the line-up, a scent called Illicit. There are notes of ginger, bitter orange, jasmine, honey and amber, and Sandra believes it captures a certain feeling.

“It’s punchy — it’s almost like a young woman becoming the Jimmy Choo woman,” she explained to WWD.

It seems 22-year-old singer Sky Ferreira is a perfect example of that woman, as she's been picked to front the campaign.

In the advert, Sky can be seen holding a large version of the glass bottle with its ridges and silver top. She wears pink briefs and stilettos, standing by a glass sliding door with blush coloured curtains blowing in the breeze.

“I love the fact that she embodies the side that is daring, that she’s a little bit experimental, she’s finding herself — but at the same time there’s a side of her that is tough but sweet,” Sandra gushed of her chosen model. “She’s like a raw diamond.”

And for Sky it was the perfect opportunity to help people see her in a new light.

"The way people look at me, they think, ‘Oh, like, grungy teenager,’ and I’m 22 years old now, and people still look at me the way I was when I was 16 years old,” she sighed. “I wanted to do something maybe a little more sophisticated. I wanted to see a different side of me, I guess.”
