Jeremy Scott teams with Melissa shoes
Jeremy Scott has teamed up with Melissa to create plastic shoes for his Fashion Week show.
The American designer - who also helms Moschino - will show his Spring/Summer 16 collection in New York on September 14.
According to WWD, models will be hitting the runway in plastic shoes that are the love child of a collaboration between Jeremy and the Brazilian footwear brand. Together they've produced two pairs of shoes to grace the catwalk in the Big Apple.
It's not yet been divulged what they look like or when/if they will be available to purchase.
Jeremy isn't the first to go plastic fantastic with Melissa footwear - fashion heavyweights Vivienne Westwood and Karl Lagerfeld have also teamed with the label in the past.
It's not surprising that Jeremy has made such quirky shoes; he's known for his bold collections and isn't afraid to make fashion fun. He even redesigned the iconic Moonman award for this year's MTV VMAs, with the designer explaining he'd much rather design for musicians than Hollywood stars.
"I have such an affinity for musicians especially. I'm not really an actress' designer. I love musicians because, if their job is to personify a part of their personality, then I can come in and help turn up the volume on it," he explained to Paper magazine.
"I love that, because it is really being with a unique person and creating with a unique person, and that's why I have these strong female relationships like I do with [South Korean singer] CL, Katy [Perry], Rih[anna], Miley [Cyrus]. I'm lucky I have those relationships with people I feel so inspired by. I am the musicians' designer because I do things that are stronger and more eccentric. I get it: actresses have to blend and become other people all the time. I'm not that person. My design stands out, it personifies. It's like a megaphone."
