Jenny Packham unveils fine jewellery collection
Jenny Packham has unveiled a jewellery line inspired by Old Hollywood glamour.
The British fashion designer founded her eponymous brand in 1988 and later introduced a bridal collection as well as lingerie and ready-to-wear ranges, with her beautiful eveningwear sported by the likes of Anna Kendrick, Christina Hendricks and the Duchess of Cambridge.
Now, Packham is setting her sights on the fine jewellery market and has created a bridal collection in partnership with Goldsmiths.
“I really enjoy the process of creating something truly special and beautiful,” she told luxurylondon.co.uk. “For me that is my greatest pleasure and challenge. Designing bridal wear has always given me great personal reward. To create a fine jewellery collection is an extension of my desire to create beautiful, timeless designs.”
Within the collection are three design families, each of which includes an engagement ring and matching necklace and earrings. The Aurora collection is inspired by the brightest cluster of stars, while the Etolie range features solitaire diamonds.
Meanwhile, her Gloria collection is inspired by American actress Gloria Swanson, who Packham describes as the epitome of old Hollywood glamour.
“(It is) intricate and contemporary, featuring a brilliant round diamond nestled in a square double halo of pave set diamonds,” she shared.
When it comes to designing jewellery, the 51-year-old adds that she had strong ideas about what she wanted to create, as she’s has always loved the beauty and symbolism associated with jewellery.
She is particular drawn to “ancient” jewellery and the idea that trinkets can link us to the past.
"Rings in particular are so personal. Associated with love and hope, they form an integral part of a woman’s history,” said Packham.
