Jason Wu designs rain boot for Melissa Shoes
Jason Wu has teamed up with Melissa Shoes to create a glossy ankle boot.
The Taiwanese-Canadian designer is known for his sharp tailoring as head of Hugo Boss, plus his elegant womenswear at his namesake label.
Expanding into shoes, Jason teamed with plastic footwear brand Melissa Shoes earlier this year (16) to create a sandal and flats collection. Adding to the joint line, Jason has now created a boot, featuring a pointed toe, available in four colours. Fans can pick up the rain boot in indigo, deep green, black and grey. It retails at $190 (£146).
Melissa Shoes is known for working with some of the industry’s most respected talents, previously tapping Vivienne Westwood, Karl Lagerfeld and Jeremy Scott.
Jeremy’s Spring/ Summer 16 offering was made up of four designs; two flats, a sandal and a mini rain boot for children.
“I do always like the idea of putting a smile on people's faces when they see my work,” Jeremy said of his colourful shoes. “One of the reasons I choose to do this collaboration with Melissa was because I wanted to share my designs with more people, and I felt that this would be a great way to do that.”
It’s been a busy year for Melissa Shoes, as the label has also worked with furniture brand Campana Brothers. Taking inspiration from their own designs, Humberto and Fernando Campana added baroque detailing to their Melissa Shoes, made available in six shades.
“The baroque collection came to be from the mix between roman baroque and the typical style of Brazil,” the duo said.
