Irina Shayk: 'Social media matters for my job'
Irina Shayk isn't "too attached" to social media, but does view it as an important part of her career.
The Russian model has had countless jobs over the years, such as posing for the likes of Victoria's Secret and Avon along with a role in the 2014 movie Hercules opposite Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. She keeps fans up to date with her antics via Twitter and Instagram, with a joint following of over six million people.
"It's just a really important part of my job," she smiled to Britain's Look magazine when asked if she loves how immediate the apps are. "I love to follow my friends and people like Riccardo Tisci, Mert and Marcus, and my friend Chrissy Teigen - basically people who are cool and funny.
"I'm not too attached to social media on the whole, but I do love to use it as a fun way to show my fans what my life is like."
What you won't see on her accounts is photos of herself and her beau, actor Bradley Cooper, but she did share her secret to getting the perfect selfie: knowing which side is your best.
Irina is currently fronting the new campaign for underwear brand Intimissimi, the lingerie company she first worked for back in 2007. It was a role that boosted her modelling career and she's thrilled to be back in its pieces.
"My most powerful memory relating to Intimissimi is the day I first learned that I was confirmed for the campaign back in 2007," she recalled. "I was new in the business, so for me, becoming a face of the brand was a huge opportunity. Lingerie is extremely important for a woman. It makes you feel like a queen."
Her life has changed a great deal since then and she feels "blessed" to have become a successful model.
