Heidi Klum: ‘Lingerie is more than just underwear’
Heidi Klum finds putting on stylish lingerie gives her an instant confidence boost.
The German model and former Victoria’s Secret Angel has spread her wings into other successful ventures in recent years, including Heidi Klum Intimates. The line offers pretty yet wearable underwear for women, something that the 43-year-old is passionate about.
“Designing my own lingerie line has been so much fun,” she told Britain’s Marie Claire magazine. “Wearing the right underwear improves your shape, and great lingerie boosts your self-esteem.”
But while Heidi is certain of the benefits a well-fitted bra can give a woman, she has very specific ideas about what looks best. The blonde beauty isn’t a fan of push-up bras and deems them to be old-fashioned, instead preferring more elegant styles.
“I try to wear more natural styles instead of being holstered up. Shape-wise, I like the Heidi Klum Intimates A Corps Perdu. It’s very low. I like to see more breast than bra – it’s sexier,” she explained.
Though she’s a lingerie fan, Heidi has a vast wardrobe of designer clothes, many of which she collected throughout the height of her modelling career. These days, however, the busy mother-of-four tends to stick with her tried-and-test favourites, and finds she buys most of her clothes from The Row, the brand created by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Heidi hopes she can one day pass down all of her fashion finds down to her two daughters, Leni, 12, and Lou, six, whom she shares with her ex-husband Seal.
“I have a hard time throwing things out. I’ve got a big basement and two daughters – they’re going to die for my stuff one day. They’re already hoping they’ll end up with my shoe size, but I’m a 41 so I don’t know if they will," she said.
