Hailey Baldwin: 'I have my struggles with insecurity too'
Hailey Baldwin often finds it difficult to navigate life in the spotlight.
The Guess model, who recently launched her own fashion line with the brand, admits that despite her privileged upbringing, she's no different from any other teenager, and has her own insecurities to battle. However, most teenagers don't have 7.2 million Instagram followers watching their every move.
"This generation has a lot of eyes on them," Hailey shared in an interview with Evening Standard magazine. "Everybody my age struggles with insecurities, so take that and multiply it by seven million people."
The 19-year-old model and daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, has been propelled into the spotlight recently, thanks to her on-off relationship with Canadian singer Justin Bieber. And with social media making it easy for people to share their views, Hailey admits she often feels bombarded by people's negative opinions.
"There are people much older than me saying horrible things who have no business paying attention to what a 19-year-old does," she says before admitting, "It's not the best feeling in the world."
But sounding older than her years, Hailey admits she understands it comes with the territory, and says, "You just have to accept it and move on."
The negativity doesn't stop her from sharing constant updates of her model life with her followers. On Tuesday evening (30Aug16) she gave fans a sneak peek of her latest Guess shoot on her Instagram page, dressed in a classic Guess logo vest and denim hotpants.
The Arizona native, who counts models Bella and Gigi Hadid among her friends, has no plans to raise her future children quite so publicly.
"When I have kids, they will not grow up around all this," smiled Hailey. "It's easy to become spoiled and pretentious and to have the wrong attitude."
