Hailey Baldwin gives thumbs up to Guess' new male scent
Hailey Baldwin prefers a natural scent but even she approves of apparel brand Guess' new male fragrance Dare for Men .
The model was on hand at the Hollywood launch alongside Charlotte McKinney and Guess co-founder and chief creative officer, Paul Marciano, at Ysabel in West Hollywood, California on Thursday evening (28Jul16).
Dare for Men is a companion scent to the women's scent Double Dare that was released by the brand last September (15).
Givaudan perfumer Jacques Huclier created a fresh woody citrus fragrance, aimed at confident and adventurous men, in a deliberate attempt to move millennials on from the citrus notes that tend to dominate male grooming products.
“The ingredients were chosen to be very, very distinct and not like anything else out there," explained Kate Greene, vice president of marketing at Swiss fragrance manufacturer Givaudan. “This is borrowing from niche indie brands that are using woods in very unique ways. Woods are very sensual and can be very sexy, and are very much trending.”
Dare's bottle features a gunmetal cap and metal plaque engraved with the Guess logo fastened to the bottle with embossed screws, while the carton references the brand’s denim heritage.
It is available in three eau de toilette sizes: 30 ml. for $39 (£29) 50 ml. for $49 (£37)and 100 ml. for $65 (£49).
The sunsoaked ad campaign shot by Yu Tsai, features models Hannah Ferguson and Gui Fedrizzi outside in Guess typical palm tree and sunny California settings.
Hailey gave her seal of approval to men wearing fragrance, even though she herself prefers to go au naturale.
“I like when a guy smells good, for sure,” she smiled.
While model pal Charlotte admitted she's easily pleased when it comes to men's grooming. “I like a guy to naturally smell good. I think deodorant is important. Just be clean. That’s it,” she laughed.
The fragrance is available at Guess stores, and select perfumery chains and department stores.
