Grace Hartzel’s nostalgic style
Grace Hartzel's style is "free and nostalgic".
The 19-year-old model is already considered a muse at fashion house Saint Laurent, walking for its Autumn/Winter 15 show during Paris Fashion Week along with the likes of Givenchy and Valentino.
She may be in the early stages of her career, but Grace already has a firm grasp on her taste in clothes.
"Free and nostalgic: I love to mix gothic trinkets with ethereal dresses and billowing blouses," she explained to UK Vogue. "I usually start with a 60s or 70s silhouette, then add accessories that hint at Victoriana."
Asked which piece she wouldn't live without the brunette beauty chose her little black satchel from Saint Laurent, and named layered necklaces as her signature style piece.
On the topic of her favourite designers Grace loves Saint Laurent creative director Hedi Slimane's "darker creativity" and is excited by his integrating musical moods into his creations.
The teenager was discovered while eating a meal with her family at The Cheesecake Factory in St. Louis, Missouri, and her life hasn't been the same since.
When it comes to preparing for a job, Grace has a particular method she follows.
"Learn to get into character (I study actresses like Tilda Swinton for inspiration) and always tune in carefully to the vibe of a shoot," she advised to aspiring models. "The stylist's references are your script."
She also listens to music to help her get into the right mindset for a job and it seems the fashionista is an old soul at heart, as she chose Elvis Presley, Lewis Carroll or Jimi Hendrix as her dream people to meet.
