Giuseppe Zanotti to open London flagship

Giuseppe Zanotti is to open a flagship store in London later this year (16).

The Italian footwear designer will set up shop on Mayfair's fashionable Conduit Street, where neighbours include brands such as Moschino, Vivienne Westwood and Yohji Yamamoto.

As well as his two established boutiques on Sloane and Lowndes streets, in the Kensington and Chelsea suburbs, Zanotti sells his designs in major department stores Harrods and Selfridges.

However, this new venture will be much more spacious than his current fixtures, with the new space spanning over 2,300 square feet, and allowing him to showcase his range of high heels made from luxurious satin and printed leather as well as famed seven bar buckle sneakers.

“Our two existing London stores have proven to be a strong success in the past decade, exceeding our expectations and reinforcing our view about the potential of our brand in the U.K.,” Zanotti told WWD. “The opening of our new flagship in London, a city at the heart of fashion as well as being a global tourist destination, is an exciting development in our brand’s European growth."

The new store will stock the label’s seasonal men’s and women’s footwear and handbag collections, and will have a dedicated bridal section as well as jewellery and ready-to-wear designs.

Zanotti also plans to stock his Giuseppe Junior range, a new children's footwear label which was launched in April (16).

Zanotti started out in the shoe design business by working for the likes of Christian Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Missoni and Vera Wang. He set up his eponymous line in 1993, and has become a go-to for stars such as Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Minogue, who are keen to make a style statement in the designer's vertiginous heels which feature his signature beaded, cutout and studded detailing.

The new store is scheduled to open in fall.
