Gigi Hadid: 'Once I'm home... I'm not Gigi Hadid'

Gigi Hadid makes an effort to stop the outside world from invading her personal life.

The 21-year-old model is hot property at the moment, in demand because of her successful career in fashion and high profile relationship with pop star Zayn Malik. With so much attention surrounding her though, Gigi admits she sometimes needs time out from being a famous name.

“I try on a daily basis to just focus on what I have to do for that day, because when you put it into smaller groups then you realise, ‘Hey, this is work. This is family. This is my relationship,’" she explained to Vanity Fair. "When you let the outside world trickle into everything else, that’s when it becomes a problem. So I just try to keep everything separate, and remember that when I walk into my apartment door (at the end of the day), it’s a different... I’m not Gigi Hadid.

“Sometimes that gets me into trouble because... I have to remember that there’s a safety boundary and stuff. I try to just not think of the extent of the fan base all the time. You know what I mean?”

Next up fans can see Gigi in print advertisements for Evian as part of its Baby Bay campaign. Growing up with her mother, reality star Yolanda Foster stressing the importance of staying hydrated, it seems a natural fit for the blonde beauty.

With an interest in fashion photography from a young age, Gigi is thrilled to be doing exactly that for such big brands now.

“I grew up loving iconic photos and that’s why I wanted to be a model,” she smiled. “It wasn’t about the actual clothes and the business behind fashion until I got into it. That’s why photographers were my idols. I always try and leave (a) set proud of what I do, and so when I get to see (the images) out it’s really exciting. It’s rewarding.”

When she isn't busy with work Gigi can often be found cooking in her kitchen or spending time with her pals Kendall Jenner and Taylor Swift.
