Gigi Hadid: 'Mum keeps me at top of my game'

Gigi Hadid’s mother Yolanda helps the model retain her top spot in the fashion industry.

Gigi first found fame on reality TV series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which her mother has starred on since 2012. However it didn’t take long for Gigi to find her own path, and over the past few years the 21-year-old has carved out a career as one of the world’s most in demand models.

Staying at the top of her game may be challenging at times, but Gigi’s mother has instilled in her traits that will help her keep her crown.

“My mom always said, ‘If you’re not hard-working and a pleasure to be around, there will always be someone prettier, more hard working, and more fun to be around’,” Gigi told America’s InStyle, adding she always brings “positive energy” to any set she’s on.

The blonde beauty is taking a break from the high fashion world with her latest job, fronting the new Evian Baby Bay campaign. For the water company’s advert, Gigi channels a surfer girl vibe, with a baby lookalike acting as her younger self.

“I’ve been a big fan of the advertisements throughout the years, especially the baby ads,” she gushed. “I’m thrilled to help bring the Evian effect to life and see my image along with my baby lookalike.”

Admitting she’s always been an Evian drinker, Gigi shares the company’s outlook when it comes to life.

“We both believe that living young has nothing to do with age, and everything to do with a healthy mind and spirit,” she said.
