Gigi Hadid feels insecure about her runway walk
Gigi Hadid feels she has room for improvement when it comes to her runway walk.
The American model stormed the catwalk during Milan Fashion Week last month (Sep16), and even walked alongside Lauren Hutton at the Bottega Veneta show.
But the 21-year-old thinks that her sexy strut could be better and she has no problem admitting it.
“I never was taught how to walk on the runway. And maybe that’s because it moved really quickly for me, that people just assumed that that was something I knew,” she told W magazine in their latest Screen Test video. “I’m working on it, but I’m human. I still get insecure on the runway, but it’s really exciting for me because I want to get better. I love being on the runway.”
However, Gigi has always been a professional when it comes to posing for the camera.
She did some modelling for Guess as a toddler and has been covering billboards since she was youngster. Though she says she’s very uncomfortable seeing them in person today.
“Now when I see myself on a billboard I can’t go near the block. I get hot sweats,” she revealed. “So I ask my friends to send pictures to me because I can’t go anywhere near it.”
And the blonde beauty admits she still feels surprised by her speedy rise to stardom, because she feels she doesn’t have the conventional body type for a model.
When she first moved to New York to pursue modelling, Gigi was heavily involved in volleyball and had a more athletic physique, something that set her aside from her peers.
“There was one point where my agent called me and he said (magazine editor) Carine Roitfeld wants to meet you, and I said, ‘Are you sure she said the right name? I have boobs and a butt.'”
