Georgia May Jagger models for Mulberry
Georgia May Jagger has helped keep the spirit of "British cool" alive for Mulberry's upcoming campaign.
The 23-year-old model is the star of the leather goods company's Autumn/Winter 15 promo, with the images just released.
In one, Georgia is seen gazing moodily into a camera against a red brick wall backdrop, with a black hat obscuring part of her face. She has a grey wool coat on and is clutching an iconic burgundy Mulberry Bayswater bag. The pictures were taken in Chelsea, London, with the location chosen as the company wanted to stick to its UK roots.
"Mulberry is proud to be British, and it is important to keep this spirit of British cool alive as we continue our international growth," chief executive officer, Thierry Andretta, told WWD.
The pictures were taken by Alasdair McLellan, with the decision taken to make them look as if they were straight out of the 70s. As well as the Bayswater, the Roxette and Mini Jamie bags also feature.
Along with pictures a video was made, which has a backing song by The Jesus and Mary Chain.
Many campaigns are being unveiled at the moment, with Carolina Herrera's latest also just released. Lily Aldridge is the star of this one, which was shot by photographer Mario Testino for the first time.
The theme is family, with Lily one of two couples who features. Both are staring at a blue-eyed baby who is the centre of the photograph and is grabbing at a Carolina Herrera bag in cream, green and purple.
It's thought the shot is a nod to the famed designer, who has members of her family who work at her label.
"It’s a South American world coming to America bringing its culture, tradition, values and sense of family and chic," Mario, from Peru, told WWD. "It’s how South Americans like to be dressed and present themselves, but the ethos really belongs to Carolina Herrera herself."
