George Barnett: I'm no Gandy

George Barnett doesn't want to turn into another David Gandy.

The British model has been making waves in the fashion world since being cast opposite Naomi Campbell, Jourdan Dunn and George Le Page for Burberry's Spring/ Summer 15 campaign.

The stunning shots were captured by renowned photographer Mario Testino, but while George welcomes being recognised, he doesn't desire fame.

"I think I prefer it that way [not being recognised]. I don’t want to turn into another David Gandy, do I?” he smiled to Mr Porter.

As well as sharing David's chiselled good looks and flair for fashion, both men hail from the same part of England.

George's schedule is jam packed at the moment and he has upcoming campaigns for Hermès, Valentino and Tommy Hilfiger’s The Hilfigers ad.

“I’ve been really lucky to have worked with a bit of a who’s who of photographers… I mean, this season alone I’ve worked with [David] Bailey and Testino," he smiled.

As with most models nowadays, fashion isn't the 26-yar-old's only passion; he's also a talented musician.

He plays with band These New Puritans, with the group working extensively with Saint Laurent's Hedi Slimane over the years.

"I’m both [a musician and model]. But they’re two very separate worlds. Music is all-encompassing. It isn’t something that you can just dip a toe into; you need to immerse yourself fully. So I try to keep a clearly defined line," he explained.
