Frida Giannini 'set to marry'

Frida Giannini is reportedly getting married next month.

The blonde designer helmed fashion house Gucci from 2006 until earlier this year, when she made an early departure from the position. She's famously in a relationship with the brand's former CEO Patrizio di Marco, who left shortly before she did, and the pair have daughter Greta together.

Despite the pair being secretive about their romance, sources have revealed to WWD that Frida and Patrizio are set to take their love to the next level. According to the publication they will be walking down the aisle on June 5, which is also the businessman's birthday.

It's predicted the nuptials will take place in a beach resort called Sabaudia, which is around 60 miles from Rome and a holiday hot spot for the fashionista.

Frida's early exit from Gucci surprised many and in late January, Alessandro Michele was announced as the new creative director. He worked for the brand's design studio from 2002 until 2011, when he switched to an 'associate' for Frida.

She likely approves of the new appointee and Marco Bizzarri, Gucci president and chief executive officer, previously spoke about the company's decision.

“Alessandro is not a big name. He is under the radar,” he told WWD. “He is known in the company as being the most talented person and is very much respected by the team. He knows Gucci inside and out.”

It's thought Frida and Patrizio's leaving was due to their failure to turn the brand around. Frida left before she could showcase the label's Autumn/Winter 15 collection at Milan, as well as her final men's collection in late January.
