Fernanda Ly: I always remember LV show

Fernanda Ly loved working with the "enthusiastic" Nicolas Ghesquière.

The Australian model made her Fashion Week debut during a stint Down Under last year, but hit the big time when asked to walk for Louis Vuitton during the brand's A/W 15 show in Paris earlier this month.

The 18-year-old was thrilled to have been chosen by creative director Nicolas and has recalled the life-changing experience.

“[I learnt of the job] first thing in the morning when I checked my emails (still laying in bed, half asleep). I took a screen shot to prove it wasn’t a dream," she grinned to vogue.com.au.

“It was definitely an experience to remember. He was always so enthusiastic and overall amazing to work with.

“[The line is] cosy! If only fur coats were suitable in Australian weather... The trunks are also calling my name...”

Fernanda is recognisable thanks to her candyfloss pink hair, which stood out against the white of her coat on the catwalk last week. It may make a statement in the spotlight but the model admits it's very high maintenance.

“Patience and continuous upkeep!" she laughed when asked how she keeps her hair looking vibrant. "I would probably be bald if I didn't take care of my hair. In terms of colour however, I mix my hair dye into a bottle of conditioner to maintain it. I highly recommend anyone with unnatural colours do this!

“I have developed an automatic reply to almost all hair-related questions.”

She's always been interested in fashion and has learnt some valuable lessons from being a model, one of these being that the job is a lot harder than it looks.

Another tip she shared was never to interrupt a stylist while they are holding curling irons close to your scalp, or an eye lash curler near eyes.
