Edie Campbell: I love reinvention

Edie Campbell is inspired by David Bowie and Kate Bush.

Like her style idols, model Edie rocks her own unique look. Her hair is cropped into a short cut and she often sports doe-eyed make-up for shoots, with Edie confessing it's a quiet statement she tries to make.

"I am inspired by singers who reinvent themselves, like David Bowie and Kate Bush. I like it when people try to say something through how they look. It's exciting to see in a homogenised world," Edie told Harper Bazaar UK.

"By opting out of the beauty system and not worrying too much, you are still staking a claim and making it a position for yourself that tells people a lot."

The 24-year-old Brit has walked for the liked of Chanel, Christian Dior and Balenciaga, as well as fronting campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Alexander McQueen.

Despite being able to dress in the world's finest gowns, Edie describes her own style as "boyish, sweaty and horsey".

Her love of riding also means she has to slather on the SPF 50, as it's easy to get a "farmer's tan" when she's on her horse in the sun.

When it comes to make-up, she's a big fan of Yves Saint Laurent.

"I don't like using heavy concealers or foundation every day. I'd rather pinpoint areas that need a little help. I love YSL's Touché Éclat and Babydoll Mascara.

"For eyebrows, I rely on Marc Jacobs Brow Tamer and Charlotte Tilbury's Brow Lift Eyebrow Pencil," she listed.
