Eastpak X Jean Paul Gaultier Tackle AIDS In New Collaboration
Get your paws on some Jean Paul Gaultier without the eye-watering price tag, all while being charitable in the new collaboration with Eastpak.
Following the success of this year’s edition of Eastpak Artist Studio, comes a new collaborative collection inspired by some of Jean Paul Gaultier’s most iconic catwalk pieces.
The Eastpak X Jean Paul Gaultier collection is fashionably charitable as part of the proceeds go to Designers Against AIDS (DAA) to help boost awareness for HIV/AIDS and bring real change to the lives of millions around the world.
Jean Paul Gaultier says:
“I have been involved in the fight against AIDS for many years now and will continue to do so for as long as I am needed.”
This collaborative collection combines Jean Paul Gaultier’s unique artistic vision and Eastpak’s uncompromising passion for functionality, while capturing the spirit, heritage, values and identity of both brands.
Founder and Creative Director of DAA, Ninette Murk, says:
“Jean Paul Gaultier is one of the most talented and creative fashion designers in the world today and has supported our fight against aids from the beginning.”
The Eastpak X Jean Paul Gaultier collection features seven backpacks in all, three of which are limited editions. All backpacks will feature an overstitched Bretton stripe on the back – a signature of Gaultier designs.
The limited edition collection is inspired by Eastpak’s military heritage, while using lacing and corsetry - an essential in Gaultier history.
The main collection takes Eastpak’s college and street heritage as inspiration and uses bomber and denim jackets - two pieces Gaultier has reinterpreted many times.
With the main collection is €79.95, they’re a real steal!
The collection, released yesterday, is available online now at www.eastpak.com/eu-en/jean-paul-gaultier/
