DvF: Bruce Jenner is courageous

Diane von Furstenberg has revealed her “admiration” for Bruce Jenner in light of a Photoshopped image she posted recently, showing the star in a dress.

In an interview with Diane Sawyer on Friday, the former Olympic athlete came out as transgender, revealing he is transitioning into a woman.

The designer took to Instragram in light of the news, posting a picture of Bruce in one of her famous wrap dresses, with her company’s tagline: “Feel like a woman, wear a dress.”

Under the photo, she added: “Bruce Jenner…You are the woman you wanted to be! I salute your strength, courage and honesty. By speaking out, you have spoken for so many who suffer… Love Diane @kimkardashian @kendalljenner. (sic)”

When angry responses flooded in, Diane removed the post and released the following statement, where she did not directly address the image.

“I admire Bruce Jenner’s strength, courage and honesty and have so much respect for him using his voice to speak for people who have none. I wish him nothing but a lifetime of happiness,” she said.

Kim Kardashian spoke up in support of her stepfather, who is now divorced from her mother Kris, saying she is very happy for the 65-year-old.

Hopefully Diane’s comments won’t cause a rift between her and the socialite, who has always been a big fan.

"Always been inspired by Diane von Furstenberg, as a successful business woman, and love her new show #HouseOfDVF! On after #KKHamptons on E! (sic)" Kim wrote to her followers on Twitter recently.
