Dita Von Teese backtracks on Kardashian criticism

Dita Von Teese thinks Kim Kardashian West is "beautiful" and believes anyone who criticises her is just "jealous."

The burlesque dancer, 43, hit out at the reality TV star and her famous sisters last week for promoting waist trainers as a productive way to lose weight via their social media accounts but appears to have now backtracked.

Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, Dita said: "I'm crazy about Kim Kardashian. I think Kim is lovely. Every time I see her and talk to her, I think, 'Wow, she's really beautiful.' I think anybody who throws the Kardashians shade is just jealous."

The brunette beauty then went on to clarify her comments on the 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' beauties using the stomach-crushing slimming tool to shrink their curves.

She explained: "It seems to me there are people that are jumping on the bandwagon to make corsets because the Kardashians have mentioned them, and it's seen as a fast-track to slimming the waist.

"I just encourage people to get more information so they actually know what it is and how it works.

"Waist-training is a form of body modification that can't be done properly with an ill-fitting or even off-the-rack corset.

"That's a long-term thing and a different thing than I think the Kardashians are talking about."

Meanwhile, Dita believes people should follow her technique of using a corset to help define their waist.

She said previously: "It seems to be a fast fix. And it is! If you put on a corset and pull the strings tight, you instantly have this silhouette.

"And it's great, but it's not going to modify your body if you're not engaged in a serious [regimen] of it."
