Chrissy Teigen will rock maternity style
Chrissy Teigen will still be wearing her favourite maternity wear, even though she has welcomed baby Luna.
Chrissy and her singer husband John Legend had their daughter, Luna Simone Stephens, on 14 April, and the proud parents have since been showing their new arrival off on their social media accounts.
Model Chrissy looked chic throughout her pregnancy, and her stylist Anita Patrickson reveals the 30-year-old is hanging on to some of her maternity wardrobe.
“Chrissy wore a ton of duster coats throughout her pregnancy and it always looked great on her,” Anita told America’s InStyle. “When you’re pregnant, your body is changing in the front and the back, so it's the perfect piece to keep everything looking streamlined and flattering.
“We cut (a 3.1 Phillip Lim piece) so Chrissy could put a stretchy body con dress underneath. Then we added a hook-and-eye, so that she could still wear it after she had the baby.”
The loose 3.1 Phillip Lim garment actually started life as a maxi dress before Anita transformed it into a coat.
Anita says the look can work on anyone, with great options available at high street stores like Forever 21 and Missguided. She advises teaming a duster with slim pants or over shorts and a T-shirt.
“It can make any basic look instantly cooler,” she smiled.
And as for little Luna, Anita is already coming up with ideas to make sure the tot is the best dressed baby around.
“Yes! I’ve already put dibs in,” she laughed. “I got her a Stella McCartney cashmere blanket with booties and a hat for the baby shower. I'm from South Africa, so I bought her an adorable safari outfit too.”
