Chrissy Teigen’s cookbook beauty looks

Chrissy Teigen doesn’t need to wear make-up, according to her make-up artist.

The 29-year-old model is about to release her first ever cookbook and has been teasing lots of shots from the tome on Instagram. Chrissy’s looks were created in part by her make-up artist Mary Phillips, who insists the star could have got away with being au-natural on every page.

“Chrissy can honestly wear no make-up, so with some of the looks, we wanted it to feel like you were cooking alongside her,” she told Allure. “A few of those looks are spotlighted by the elevated model-off duty appearance - flattering nudes and slight undertones that create a pop of colour to complement the make-up but not be overpowering. I tried to emphasise great skin, the right blush, the perfect gloss, and stunning lashes."

One of her Instagram posts from the book saw Chrissy, who is married to singer John Legend, posing poolside wearing a pair of aviator shades and a vibrant red lipstick. It happens to be one of Mary’s favourite looks from the whole recipe guide.

“That was a very fun day! The scene was poolside in the summer, so we wanted to spice things up a bit. Since she's a model, she can go bold,” Mary explained. “That lipstick is a mix of Tom Ford Lip Color in True Coral and Flame. The way it goes with her skin, that black Norma Kamali suit, her hair colour, and the polarised lenses of her Victoria Beckham sunglasses all made her lips look extra electric."

The pair had the chance to use a vast array of products during the shoot and Mary took the time to share with the outlet some of her favourites.

“We both love La Mer Body Lotion. It's a staple in my kit. It almost eliminates the need for any body makeup or additional bronzing or strobing,” she said. “Orlane Highlighter Care Brush is half highlighter and half concealer, and it has that perfect tinge of orange to make it a great reflective highlighter that's not glittery or shimmery.”
