Cara Delevingne dazzles at Chanel Couture show
Cara Delevingne sparked a frenzy at Chanel’s Haute Couture show on Tuesday (26Jan16), by sitting front row with her pet dog.
The British supermodel ensured all eyes were on her as she arrived at the Spring/Summer 16 show in Paris on Tuesday morning (26Jan16), wearing a risqué black mesh top with strategically positioned cats covering her bust. Clutching her pet puppy Leo, Cara dazzled in tight black trousers with leather panels, a sheer black jacket with gold and silver embellishments, chunky black boots and oversized jewel-encrusted Chanel earrings. Usually known for her fresh-faced appearance, the Chanel ambassador flaunted a dark red lip and smokey eyeshadow.
Cara’s close friends Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid also enjoyed their moment in the spotlight during the show. Kendall received a warm reception as she graced the catwalk in a full-length black gown with a deep neckline and cutaway back, while Gigi brought a romantic feel to proceedings in an intricate strapless ivory dress complete with shimmering cape.
The show was staged in a 21st century eco zone, with Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld promising to recycle the wooden set. Models moved along a timber catwalk, walking amongst manicured lawns, an orchard and a modern wooden house, as they displayed the latest creations from the fashion giant.
Ornate nude embellishments and creations in ivory, mushroom, navy and black were the order of the day, with the French fashion house predominately sticking to what it is most famous for. The iconic label impressed with elaborate metal work detail on jackets, buttons and hemlines. Embroidered silk flowers also made an appearance, giving pieces a natural and fluid feel. Jackets were kept cropped and the waist and fitted, with many boasting voluminous sleeves, rounded collars and pretty broaches. Boater necklines were a regular feature, as were purses strung around the waist. Longer skirts, finishing mid-calf, lent a more conservative feel to the outfits.
Bridal was also big news at the show, with many gowns appearing in ivory and white.
