Binx Walton: I'm unique

Binx Walton's personality sets her apart from other models.

The emerging style star, real name Leona Binx Anastasia Walton, has become a darling of the fashion world recently, after working with Chanel, Stella McCartney and Balmain.

As well as her unusual name, which comes from a childhood comparison to Star Wars character Jar Jar Binks, the 19-year-old also thinks her behaviour makes her different from the average model.

"My personality [makes me a great model]. I think a lot of models are about 3ft deep; they don't have a lot to say. I'm not perfect, but I definitely have another life outside of fashion," she told British Elle magazine.

As well as runway and editorial duties, Binx has also turned her hand to designing. She's collaborated with Superga on a sneaker collection, describing them as "simple and comfortable".

When she's out working the edgy star likes to glean information from some of the industry's top designers.

"I am a huge fan of Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent; at a fitting, I really respect how he'll make you walk for him a thousand times, but it's because he wants it right," she explained.

"Karl [Lagerfeld] is inspiring too; when he sees you, he wants to explain he back story of the clothes. And I love working with the Proenza Schouler boys [Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez]."

Away from work Binx admits she's a huge conspiracy theory nut, and spends her time watching a lot of "weird" videos on YouTube.
