BFA nominees honoured with party

Fashion's big names have celebrated the impending British Fashion Awards with a dinner and party in London.

The annual event is due to take place on Monday (23Nov15), with huge names such as Tom Ford, Victoria Beckham, Christopher Kane, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen in the running for one of the prizes. Over the weekend (21-22Nov15) organisers arranged a pre-show bash to get everyone in the mood, with many of the nominees attending.

Mary Katrantzou is in the running for the New Establishment Designer gong, competing with Craig Green and Emilia Wickstead. She got into the party spirit at Soho House in the UK capital, and gave a little insider information on the look she'll be donning for the main event.

"Natalie (Massenet, chairman of the British Fashion Council) asked me to wear one of my own, but I’m going to stick with black and then Mary-fy it with jewellery or embroidery or something,” she laughed to WWD, referring to the pattern she is so renowned for using.

Emilia was also at the party, with the designer astounded by how cold it was. She had spent the day watching the snow tumble down with her children, so being at such a lavish soiree seemed surreal - something Charlotte Olympia Dellal could sympathise with.

"I’ve just managed to get my kids to bed and now I’m going to get myself a drink,” she laughed.

Charlotte is in the running for the best accessories designer prize, alongside Sophia Webster and Tabitha Simmons.

The event will be held at the London Coliseum, with fashion's great and good expected to attend. Gucci head designer Alessandro Michele is set to receive the International Fashion Designer of the Year gong, while photographer Nick Knight will be honoured with the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.
