Angela Lindvall: 'Yoga changed my body'

Angela Lindvall has praised yoga as the secret behind her enviable figure.

The former Victoria's Secret model discovered Kundalini yoga around eight years ago and has been practicing daily ever since, even undergoing teacher training at one point.

She claims the exercise routine has given her more awareness of her surroundings and allowed her to experience a profound shift in consciousness that has impacted both her mind and body.

"It works not only my physical body but all my subtle bodies," she told MindBodyGreen. "Mostly I feel how it clears my subconscious mind of all the clutter so that I can tap into my truth and be guided by my intuition."

Angela admits that she really feels the difference if she skips a practice and varies her routines between 10 minute sessions and other days likes to practice for an hour. She also describes the ancient spiritual practice as allowing her to connect with her soul.

The 37-year-old has extended her philosophy further into her life by transforming her home in Topanga Canyon near Los Angeles into the Greenleaf Oasis wellness retreat, complete with chicken coops and vegetable gardens.

She explains that she has had an interest in health and wellness from a young age and was inspired to set up her own retreat after hosting yoga sessions at her home.

"At a similar time, my friends and I started doing cleanses at home, getting an infrared sauna, learning about healing foods, then I went through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition program and became a certified health coach," she shared. "One thing led to another and Greenleaf Oasis was born."

As well as daily practice Angela recommends undertaking an occasional detox and tries to give her system a break a couple of times a year in order to "let go of toxins".
