Amber Valletta returns to the runway for H&M
Iconic '90s supermodel Amber Valletta made a calm return to the runways of Paris on Wednesday (2March16).
The American model walked at H&M's biannual Studio collection show on, joining an all-star cast with the likes of ’00s catwalk queens Freja Beha Erichsen, Anja Rubik and Natasha Poly as well as a number of boundary-breaking models defining 2016 such as Andreja Pejic, Sports Illustrated cover star Ashley Graham and Hari Nef.
The blonde beauty looked stunning in a flowing royal blue robe dress, which was accessorised with a matching head wrap. The collection had the active, free-spirited woman in mind, and featured relaxed dresses and long skirts in luxurious fabrics.
Amber, who had just arrived in from Los Angeles, told US Vogue backstage she was thrilled to return to the runways of Paris.
“H&M asked me to come, and I was excited to do it. I work with them a lot, but I’ve never done the show. Plus, I get to come to Paris,” she shared.
The 43-year-old revealed she didn't do anything special to prepare for the show. "I think after 20-some odd years I should know what I’m doing,” she laughed. As for whether or not she had nerves, she says with a good-natured shrug, “Not yet!”
She did admit using a clay mask from Charlotte Tilbury before the show, and revealed she sticks to a schedule of five workouts a week to keep her body strong.
"I do a little bit of everything. I box. And then I have two trainers.” But today, “I’m jet-lagged, so I basically just took a nap.”
Amber moved to the French capital at age 17 in a bid to break into editorial. She allowed two hairstylist friends to chop off her long blonde hair into a pixie cut on a whim which catapulted her to overnight fame.
Amber said she plans to stay in the city she loves until next Monday, and her itinerary includes “going to see some museums - and I’m going to sit at Angelina and have a hot chocolate and read my book.”
She also hinted that she may walk in another catwalk show. “Well, I might be walking in a pretty good one on Monday," she said sheepishly.
