Alice + Olivia opens sophisticated new store
Fashion brand Alice + Olivia is continuing to expand into bricks and mortar retail.
Launched in 2002 by New York-based designer Stacey Bendet, Alice + Olivia is known for flirty yet sophisticated garments which allow customers to express their personal style. Incorporating bold colours, unique prints and eclectic details to create vibrant and dynamic pieces, Alice + Olivia designs have been modelled on the red carpet by celebrities such as Beyonce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Katy Perry and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Now the label is continuing to expand into traditional retail, unveiling a new store in Boston, Massachusetts on Friday (10Jun16). Located on 166 Newbury Street in Boston’s Back Bay district, the brand's 12th store will carry a complete offering, including a ready-to-wear collection, gowns, shoes, handbags and accessories. And while fashionistas might wonder if there is wide appeal for Alice + Olivia's bohemian-inspired festival looks or Grateful Dead capsule collection in the typically traditional city, Bendet claims the location is a great fit for brand.
"I love the energy and style of the women in Boston," Bendet told WWD. "With its perfect blend of sophisticated and chic offerings, Newbury Street was the ideal location for our newest Alice + Olivia store."
For her more conservative client, Bendet will offer conventional daywear such as wool drop-waist dresses and embroidered fit-and-flare numbers.
The store itself is in a prime position and has been designed to offer customers an intimate yet quirky shopping experience. It also features a hand-painted mural that’s unique to the Boston location, depicting birds inspired by the Alice + Olivia brand and painted by artist Elizabeth Graeber.
Bendet reveals that she chose the vintage furniture for the store, including black and white pieces which are signature to her shops right across the global chain.
As well as online, Alice + Olivia designs are available at over 30 free-standing boutiques located in major cities around the world including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Dubai and Singapore, as well as at over 800 specialty stores worldwide.
