Alessandra Ambrosio meditates her stress away
Alessandra Ambrosio relies on meditation to help her cope on busy days.
The Victoria’s Secret model and brand ambassador for Replay Hyperfree jeans juggles raising her two children with her work commitments, relying on a few failsafe coping strategies – exercise and meditation.
As a veteran on the catwalk and in magazines with a number of campaigns under her bikini for the lingerie brand, and Next, Armani Exchange, Christian Dior, and Ralph Lauren among others, the 35-year-old is no stranger to the demands of the job. So when her schedule gets busy, she always makes time for a de-stressing meditation session.
“When I have a lot on, like today, meditation de-stresses me, so I always make space for it,” she smiled to Glamour magazine.
Now a resident in Los Angeles with her photographer partner Jamie Mazur and children Anja and Noah, the Brazilian beauty typically starts her day with a healthy breakfast with her children before heading for her chosen workout.
“I make some eggs and avocado for Noah, my daughter Anja, and I – but Noah ends up eating most of it,” she shared.
After dropping the children to school, Alessandra heads to her exercise class, which she likes to regularly switch up.
“I head to my barre class – exercise inspired by ballet. I mix up my classes, but this is ‘my thing’ at the moment,” explained the model.
Alessandra, who was born in the town of Erechim in southern Brazil, is one of fashion’s most recognisable faces thanks to her work with Victoria’s Secret.
Jet-setting comes with the territory, so who better to pick up a few tips on how to travel comfortably. She always travels with a big scarf to use as a blanket on the plane and while she lives an uber healthy lifestyle, it’s not all green juice and avocado.
“I like flying, and on the right flights they serve this yummy hot fudge sundae, so I always order that,” she explained sharing her love of the in-flight indulgence. “I put on a little moisturiser then watch Sisters with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler – it totally cracks me up,” she laughed. “Then I sleep for the rest of the flight.”
