Ajak Deng returns to modelling a week after retiring
Ajak Deng is back on the runway just a week after she quit modelling
The Sudan-born beauty announced she was retiring from the profession on Wednesday (24Feb16), as she could no longer deal with the “fakes and the lies”. However, it seems she’s already had a change of heart, and is back working the runway once more.
Ajak, 26, updated fans via her Instagram.com account, after she walked the runways at Milan Fashion Week, which came to a close on Monday (29Feb16).
“Everything you do In life should be worth it or worth doing,” she captioned a black and white picture of herself smiling, while sitting in a cross-legged prayer position.
Her followers flocked to praise her move, thanking the Australian-based model for the decision to stick with her catwalk career.
As Milan wrapped its bi-annual fashion week, Ajak posted a lengthy message explaining her reasons for not giving up.
“my first season in Milan, no one booked me and I was so destroyed because they won't booking (sic) black girls like me that season and thank god for my sweet and encouraging agent @meansss who told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me and that I was one of the most beautiful girl in the world, so wiped off those tears, come back to New York and let's change their minds one day at a time,” she wrote.
Ajak adds her agent Mina White continues to support her and have her back, describing Mina as her guiding angel.
“I was selfish to only think of my self (sic) and forgetting the people that has (sic) always been there for me through the worst times and good times.
“I am just getting started and modeling isn't the only Thing I will be successful in, in my life time. I apologize to every kind souls/hearts that I have broken in the past week.”
