Adriana Lima plans to age gracefully in the spotlight

Adriana Lima plans to model for as long as possible so she can represent "mature" women.

The brunette beauty began her career in fashion after winning Ford Models' Supermodel of Brazil search and at the age of 15 took second place in Ford’s Supermodel of the World competition.

Not long after she was working in New York and posing for the likes of Vogue, but Adriana has never taken her success for granted and maintains a down-to-earth outlook.

“I see modelling as a job, not as an opportunity to appear places and be a celebrity,” she explained to Into the Gloss. “Now I'm at a time in my life where I'm representing more mature women. And I think women age so beautifully, and that's why I plan on modelling for as long as I can, because I want to show them - the world, the business - that a mature woman can be a model and be beautiful.”

While Adriana recognises that looking after herself is part of the job, the 35-year-old wants to look good for as long as possible anyway and eats well and exercises to ensure this.

Her workout of choice is boxing, which she has been doing since she was 19, and finds the exercise benefits all aspects of her life.

“Some people find that in yoga or meditation, but when I'm boxing, I'm not in my head,” she explained. “That's why I love it. It's also great for my skin and hair because I sweat so much, which gets the circulation going. It's amazing, everyone is like, 'Oh my God, your hair'- it's from the workout!”

She also uses hair masks once a week to keep her shiny locks in top form as well as leaving conditioner on for up for 45 minutes to nourish.
