Adriana Lima: 'I'm not a fan of selfies'

Adriana Lima still hasn't mastered taking a perfect selfie, despite being one of the most successful models in the world.

The 34-year-old Victoria's Secret Angel has been working for the lingerie and clothing company for the past 15 years and is famous for showing off her svelte physique in skimpy ensembles. But when it comes to sharing tips on how to obtain a model figure on her social networking pages, Adriana isn't a fan of posting countless pictures of herself.

Instead, she'd rather upload images that indicate the results of her exercise and diet regime. "I don't think I'm someone who posts great selfies," she told "I do it to show the accomplishments... and to be silly."

Despite her lack of selfies, Adriana still has a staggering 6.2 million followers on Instagram. Her closest model competitor is fellow Angel Lily Aldridge, who has 3.3 million people following her on the app. The 30-year-old beauty lives in Nashville, Texas, with her Kings of Leon frontman husband Caleb Followill and their daughter Dixie. While you may think a lingerie picture would get the most hits on Lily's page, it is in fact family shots that garner the most interest.

"The most liked thing on my Instagram is a picture of my daughter, Dixie, and me eating ice cream in Rome," Lily told the site. "And any post with my daughter is my personal favourite post."

Another person who has realised the attraction of personal pictures is 24-year-old Stella Maxwell. The blonde beauty currently splits her time between Los Angeles and New York, and keeps her fans updated on her happenings through her social networking pages.

"My most liked photos are always personal ones," she said. "People crave real. I know I do."

Brunette beauty Jasmine Tookes, who has almost 800,000 followers on Instagram, is a fan of using hashtags and emojis to add to her posts on the site. "On Instagram my favorite filter is Ludwig, my most used hashtag is #squad, and I love the unicorn emoji," she explained. "I also love Snapchat because it really lets people see my personality."
