Tried and tested: under eye concealer

Whether you've only got slight dark circles under your eyes, or bags that could carry your food shop,

under eye concealer is most women's make-up saviour. We've trawled through the market to help you decide which ones are worth investing in.

Laura Mercier Secret Concealer - 4/5

This little pot is so creamy and easy to apply that it's now become a part of my every day make-up routine. A little goes a long way so I'm not worried about it running out any time soon, and it leaves such an even finish that it doesn't look as though I'm wearing any cover-up under my eyes at all. Thanks to it being small and light, I can pop it in my bag and top it up before a night out. Perfect for a quick fix!

Benefit Boi-ing concealer - 4/5

This industrial strength concealer promises to make shadows and circles disappear, and actually, it really delivers. The pot is easy to use, with a quick swirl around giving enough concealer to cover one eye. It's quite thick though, and can look cakey if the skin isn't moisturised enough. It lasts for hours and hours, making it my new make-up hero.

bareMinerals Bareskin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer - 3/5

This is brand new from the brand and created to give solid coverage without being too heavy or thick. It helps brighten skin as it illuminates and should leave the under eye area hydrated as well as looking fresh. It definitely helps cover dark circles, but the effect doesn't last all day - expect an afternoon top up, especially if you're going out. It's lighter than some concealers but I still found it looked cakey on occasion, and sometimes sank into the dreaded fine lines so drew attention to them.
