Tried and tested: spring products
Sunshine on our face and the smell of freshly cut crass in the air, spring has finally sprung! And with new season comes a fresh crop of beauty products hitting stores. We see what’s around this springtime.
Gosh Lumi Drops – 3/5
Gosh always have exciting seasonal products, and this latest drop is no different. Lumi Drops is a liquid highlighter designed to give you a youthful glow on the go. When used by itself I found it hard to blend in and a little orange for my skin. However when whizzed in with some moisturiser it was a different story. Skin looked perked up and radiant and it could be used as an all over bronzing glow or simply to highlight certain parts of my face.
Illamasqua Nail Veil in Bamboo - 5/5
Illamasqua’s Nail Veil in Bamboo is a pastel apricot glossy nail lacquer with pale creamy nude undertones. The perfect alternative to the neutrals or pinks which usually trend in the spring months, Nail Veil Bamboo is a delicate antioxidant-infused hue which is suitable for all occasions with its translucent gloss finish. The nail polish comes with the standard bristled brush, which makes application straightforward, though I opted for two coats of the polish for a more intense shade.
Barry M Cosmetics Coconut Infusion Nail Paint in Laguna - 3.5/5
The pretty pastel blue colour is definitely spring-worthy and while I was sceptical about the infusion of coconut oil in the polish making any difference, it definitely has more of a gloss to it. Sadly, the varnish didn't stay on as well as I'd hoped, even with a top coat. It's sure to be a great quick fix for when the sandals come out, but I don't think I'll be using this product for the long-run. Extra points for the gorgeous shades on offer.
