Tried and tested: lovely lips

If eyes are the window to your soul, then lips are the doorway to passion! Keeping your pout healthy and kissable is a must, so we’ve tracked down some products that claim to do just that.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Chocolate & Cherry Ultra Moisturizing Tinted Lip Balm - 4/5

This Palmer's lip balm is my new handbag staple! The convenient oval- shaped tube offers smooth application, while the formula is enriched with vitamin E and moisturising cocoa butter to sooth even the driest of lips soft in mere seconds. With the added benefit of SPF 15, a warm yet natural pink tint and fun flavour, this is a great year-round lip product.

Dr. Bronner’s Naked Organic Lip Balm – 4/5

I’m quite a big lip licker, and crave the feeling of putting on lip balms. I really liked this offering from Dr. Bronner’s Naked Organic Lip Balm, as it kept my lips feeling nourished for quite some time. They also looked nice and plump, and I didn’t succumb to over licking – which is always a bonus!

Aveda - Nourish-Mint Renewing Lip Treatment - 4/5

First off, I love how refreshing the taste of this balm is – it doesn’t leave a sickly taste on the lips like other products can. It's shaped like a lipstick - bar the yellowish shade - so applies easily, and leaves a fresh finish that isn't artificial tasting. It certainly nourishes and unlike other lip care products, I don't find myself applying it again soon after. It doesn't leave any colour, just a nourished-looking pout, perfect to use on a daily basis.

Pure Thoughts Mandarin Natural Lip Balm - 4/5

This 100 per cent natural balm is a blend of trendy avocado butter, olive oil and beeswax. Mandarin essential oil gives it a light fragrance that’s not too over-powering. I found it instantly smoothing when I tried it out on my thirsty pout, but not greasy. Perfect for prepping lips before make-up or to wear alone. It’s also great that something you’re planning to use a lot on your lips is 100 per cent natural.
