Tried and tested: Hair brushes

Every well-groomed woman knows that secret to shiny hair is having the right tools. We rate new hairbrush offerings from several of our favourite brands.

Tangle Teezer’s Smoothing Tool - 4/5

Tangle Teezer’s detangling combs have been a beauty kit must-have for a while now. The brand has just launched a new smoothing tool, which is available in full and half sizes to make blow-styling simple. The brush has flexible teeth which allow the hair to snake through, without pulling on the strands, and it really smoothes the tresses. It also removes excess water from strands for fasting drying time! The full-size option is most suited for medium to long hair lengths.

ghd Natural Bristle Radial Brush Size 4 (55mm Barrel) – 5/5

I’ve been in desperate need of a good barrel for a while now and this beauty from ghd did not disappoint. Strong and sturdy, this brush allowed me to dry my hair nearly as well as the hairdresser does, and I only had to go over my naturally curly hair very lightly with straighteners after I was done. The size of the brush is what really makes drying hair such a cinch and I’d highly recommend this offering from the hair hero brand to just about anyone.

Moroccanoil Ceramic Barrel Brush 55mm - 5/5

I love the look of this brush; a bright blue handle with a white ceramic barrel. Also it performs as well as it looks! The ceramic makes light work of frizzy hair and got my locks sleek and pretty straight with minimal effort. The large size also means it’s really quick and easy to get through a wet head of hair in no time. A really great buy.
