Tried and tested: Gwen Stefani red lips

Gwen Stefani is without doubt the queen of red lips. Her perfect pout adds both drama and glamour to her looks, so we took inspiration from the No Doubt singer and tracked down some of the top reds out there right now.

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Call The Shots - 5/5

Gwen's lips never look dry or chapped and with this lipstick, you're given the same enviable shine. It's nourishing as well as bold, and glides on so easily that you don't need to spend a long time applying it. Also it's long-lasting, which is important when it comes to red lipstick as you're able to make a statement for longer. Perfect for day or night, this lipstick is a step up from the rest, especially with the cute push-up casing.

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge in Idole - 5/5

Fans of Gwen’s statement lip, rejoice! This pampering lip colour is as close as it gets to the star’s signature red pout, with the sumptuous pigment creating visibly fuller and smoother lips. Idole is a blue-based red hue that gives up to eight hours of hydrating wear. Apply with a lip brush for precision, and over matching red lipliner to shape and define. What are you waiting for?!

Lord & Berry 20100 Crayon Lipstick in Dynamic Red - 4/5

Few things make you look more "dressed" than a daring lip, and this purse-worthy crayon combines incredible deep red pigment payoff with a cocktail of hydrating extracts to make you’re pout pop, just like glamorous Gwen. The crayon pencil makes filling in the lips effortless, with the formula feeling more like a gloss than a drying matte lipstick. The only downside is that it isn’t entirely budge-proof, so I would recommend using a lipliner underneath to make for longer-lasting wear.

Urban Decay Cream Vice Lipstick in Spiderweb – 4.5/5

Where better to get a red like Gwen’s than Urban Decay, the beauty brand she teamed up with on a limited edition collection of make-up. Firstly the packaging of this lipstick is so sleek, making me feel glamourous before I’ve even applied it. The cream formula glides on easily, giving my lips an instant pop of pillar box red. It’s both long lasting and not too drying, meaning my red lips didn’t look flaky. Pair with a matching lip liner to make sure the colour doesn’t bleed, which is never a good look.
